Volunteering
Casper's Legacy is a foster based, non-profit animal rescue. If you have a passion for animals, and would like to help save lives, please consider fostering! Fosters provide temporary housing for our rescues while they find their forever homes. The more fosters we have, the more lives we can save. For more information on what is involved in fostering kittens, select the link on the left "Fostering 101".
If becoming a foster is not an option, there are other ways you can help. We are always looking for help with fundraising, adoption events, or transporting cats and kittens to and from their spay/neuter appointments.
And did you know there are tax benefits for volunteering! While rescues such as Casper's Legacy typically provide all of the medical care, food, etc. for animals that are being fostered, any expenses paid out of pocket by the foster that are necessary for the care of the animal, and are not reimbursed, are tax deductible. Additionally, if you volunteer for events, transporting, or other activities that support the work of the the rescue, you can deduct mileage!
